Heavy electrical appliances such as electric kettles, irons, heaters, and similar high-power devices are officially not permitted inside hostel rooms due to safety and fire-hazard concerns. Hostel authorities may conduct room inspections, and prohibited items can be confiscated if found.

In practice, some students do keep such appliances in their rooms, but this is entirely at their own risk and is against hostel regulations.
